How We Give Your Feedback On Your Progress

We give you (or your child) personalised video feedback in response to your Weekly Showcase submissions every week. This includes individual feedback on aspects of your technical work, the pieces you are currently learning and what you need to work on the following week to improve.

You also get a graphical breakdown on how you went with all the musical aspects of the pieces you are learning.

Monthly Progress Reports

We also upload detailed monthly Progress Reports to your Lesson Portal, so you can see a snapshot of your progress against the class average.

Additional Feedback

Your lesson fee does not include additional time spent chatting to you outside of the feedback video and monthly progress reports.

If you'd like to talk in-depth about your progress, your goals, your application for a university degree, your questions about a school assignment or performance, or anything outside of the normal weekly lesson material set by your teacher, you will need to request an additional lesson. You can find the form to request an additional lesson under the "Important Info" section of your portal.

Think of it like this:

If you attended an in-person lesson and spent the whole 60 minutes talking with your teacher about how you were progressing compared to other people your age, at the end of the lesson, that's your time done. You don't then get to have your normal lesson ON TOP of this 60-minute chat. Another student is already waiting to start their lesson! The same rule applies Virtually.

Request An Additional Lesson to Talk Through Things In-Depth

If you really have a need to discuss a personal question in-depth and want to consult the advice of your teacher about this, you will need to request an additional lesson. You can find the form to request an additional lesson under the "Important Info" section of your portal.

Monthly Q&A Sessions

We have set up regular monthly Q&A sessions as part of your membership fee (so at no additional cost to you), where you have the opportunity to ask general (non-personal questions). This might be a useful channel, where you can ask your question. We encourage questions that would also benefit other students, such as "How many piano exams are there?" or "How long should I practice for?" etc etc.

If you'd like to submit a question like this for an upcoming Q&A session, you can find out more information here.
